Pete Newman is a composer, clarinettist and saxophonist based in Cambridge, UK.
Pete has experience composing in many styles, as well as writing to picture, and has recently completed a diploma in media composition. For examples of Pete's composition work, please listen to the (6 MB, mp3 format). Further examples and information can be found on the composition page.
Pete led and composed for 11-piece instrumental funk band Fully Funktional from 1992 - 2005. He also toured internationally with world fusion band Horace X from 1997 - 2006, performing on clarinet and baritone sax. Recently he has been working with soul/jazz singer Cath Coombs, both in her full scale Soul Collective and the more eclectic Fishtail. Additionally, he gigs regularly with a variety of jazz, blues and other groups, all of which are available for private functions or public performances (see menu to left for details).
As well as being available for session work on a variety of clarinets and saxophones, Pete can also provide bespoke horn arrangements, whether simply as scored parts or as final recordings to add to your pre-recorded rhythm section.
