HORACE X
Pete Newman played with global fusion band Horace X from 1997 - 2006. He has toured with Horace X extensively in Canada and Europe, including playing Montreal Jazz Festival, Vancouver and Winnipeg Folk Festivals, Chiemsee Reggae Festival, Urkult Festival and Glastonbury Festival back in the UK.

Although Pete played a variety of reed instruments on Horace X’s albums, he latterly specialised in clarinet at the Horace X live shows. The clarinet is falsely seen by many as being an outdated instrument that is unsuitable for modern music. Pete has been setting out to prove that not only can a clarinet do much that a saxophone or trumpet can do, it can also add a forceful vibrant voice that is all its own.
Horace X has become known for its dramatic UV lightshow as well as its unique high energy sound, resulting in Pete donning a variety of fetching costumes.
